Travel: Ontario, Quebec, Michigan 2012!

UPDATE March 15, 2012:  The first trip to Ontario and Quebec is shaping up.  The itinerary is coming along, the reservations have been made for this first trip to Ontario.  It will emphasize the McDonald side of my family (paternal) as featured in the blog:  The Man Who Lived Airplanes – http://macdonellfamily.wordpress.com/

However, since the trip will make a stop in Ottawa which has the Library and Archives Canada and other wonderful archives there will probably be some cross over research on Browns and Boardmans as well.  Other locations will be Belleville and Trenton for more Brown research which is Hastings County, Ontario.  The Ontario Genealogical Society Conference in June 2012 is in Kingston.  http://www.ogs.on.ca/conference2012/  I will be there.

I will be blogging about this trip on this blog and the McDonald one that I have mentioned above and is also on the blog list on the right side of this blog.  So you might want to follow me on both just to learn about researching in these areas.  I will strive to focus on the research for Browns and Boardmans on this blog for continuity.  I leave links so you can follow.

Before I head for Ontario and Quebec I will be taking a quick trip up to British Columbia to spend some time with my cousin Robert “Bob” Hayes.  He has done a great deal of research on the Brown family some of which I have featured on this blog.

Recently I finished the book:  Collins Tracing Your Irish Family History by Anthony Adolph published in 2007.  It was downloaded to my NookColor.  He has his own website at:  http://expertgenealogy.com/?x=anthonyadolph

I wanted to know a bit more about Irish research before I arrived in Canada.  I know more about Scottish because I have known more about my McDonald side for a lot longer than the Browns (maternal).  At least with the Browns we have a little more information about a possible locations of the origins of George and Esther Brown:  Longford and Cavan.

The second trip to Michigan and Ontario to dig deeper into the Brown Family  is scheduled for Fall 2012, but a lot depends on what I find out on this trip before I commit to the next.  Bonnie
