On July 2, 2010, I wrote a quick summary about the McMurray Children of Kent County, New Brunswick. Their parents were James McMurray and his wife Mary Jackson. When I attended the British Institute Course in Salt Lake City in 2013, I did a little searching for the records of the McMurray and Jackson family at the Family History Library after my class on Pre-1850 English Records. I presented those findings in the posts titled:

This is what I wrote about James McMurray the son of James and Mary Jackson McMurray in first mentioned post above.
1. James McMurray born about 1849 in England in Newcastle. James appears in the 1861 and 1871 census with his parents. This means the family emigrated to New Brunswick sometime between 1849 and 1852.
I believe I have found out more about James the son and his life in New Brunswick.
James the son was baptized on 1 April, 1849 in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northampton County, England and born 8 March 1849.

James appears in the 1861 Canadian Census of New Brunswick with his parents and other siblings. He is 12 years old and born in England, Newcastle. James the father may have been born in Ben Lomond (Beulowman might be a mixed up version of that area).

This is where it gets interesting and I believe that this is the son, James, with his own family appearing in the 1881 Canadian census in Glomely, Northumberland, New Brunswick. He is the same name, right age and born in England. I am not sure about the “Glomely” it was hard to read.

I also found Annie’s death certificate and it just adds to the information about James and Annie:

I do believe that this is definitely James McMurray’s family, the son of James McMurray and Mary Jackson McMurray and my great-grandmother Charlotte’s older brother. Of course more research is always needed.
